In short, the Fusion and Ultra versions have larger, more advanced displays and premium materials (glass back panels, aluminium bezels). As for chipsets, Edge 30 Neo got a performance for the “middle class”, Fusion has last year’s 888+ “dragon”, and the flagship Edge 30 Ultra has the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. More models older ones also received versions with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of permanent memory and, not surprisingly, much more advanced cameras (more modules, with the “ultra”, usually having 200 MP). And from the little things – more spacious batteries, newer versions of wireless modules. And the Ultra also has 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.

In the updated series, Motorola emphasizes eco-friendly packaging. No plastic bags, biodegradable cardboard, or soy ink.

It’s worth paying attention to the cover – I don’t find a silicone one for the first time, but a hard plastic one. On the plus side, it looks better, doesn’t turn yellow, and doesn’t spoil the design and colour of the back panel. On the negatives – it doesn’t protect all sides of the phone (even the lanyard can’t be attached to anything), if you take it out or put it in often, the corners can crack – it happened to me in one place, although the case might continue to be used, it did not fall apart.

The first thing to note is that the smartphone is small and light. It will immediately catch your attention when you see it and take it into your hands. In principle, compact smartphones are rare, especially in the mid-range price range, so the fact that Motorola has created a device in a similar format is pleasing. It weighs 155 g – generally fluff (by smartphone standards), and the thickness of 7.8 mm is also minimal.

The novelty received a P-OLED display with a diagonal of 6.28 inches, a resolution of 2400×1080, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and support for the DCI-P3 colour space.

The screen is beautiful, as if it were straight from a more expensive model, which is also why the phone makes a charming impression when switched on. Considering the slight diagonal, the clarity is very high. The picture is juicy, but not too much. Viewing angles are maximum, without colour distortions. The depth of black is high.

The review’s hero is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. It is a mid-level chip with adequate performance, containing eight cores, divided into two clusters (2 Kryo 660 Gold cores work with a maximum clock frequency of up to 2.2 GHz, and the remaining 6 Kryo 660 Silver cores with a maximum clock frequency up to 1.7 GHz). Graphics processing is entrusted to the Adreno 619 accelerator. Many popular mid-range devices work on the “dragon” 695, particularly realme 9 Pro, Little X4 Pro Moto G82 і G71, and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. However, these models cost significantly less than our pretty “very peri”, so I’d still like to see a newer, more powerful processor.
