Positioning
So, the declared price for the HIPER SHADOW FPV is $88. That’s not much because the manufacturer promises a lot: an HD FPV video camera, phone control, and a barometric sensor to control the flight height and mode. “Headless” management… in general, a lot. Most competitors like similar Visuo XS816, CXHOBBY CX-91, Ryze Tech Tello Boost Combo, Xk-innovations X300-F, Aosenma AOS-CG035, etc. start at $150 and at the same time don’t offer better cameras or longer battery life. So one thing is for sure – by buying IPER SHADOW FPV, you will at least save money.
Technical Characteristics And Equipment
I will say right away that HIPER declares a lot and at once. The colourful box says in giant letters that the radio-controlled quadcopter can fly for up to 28 minutes. A considerable number, considering that most of the analogues, as mentioned above, modestly give no more than 13 minutes.
The quadcopter is equipped with an HD FPV video camera with a resolution of 720p/0.9 MP, which transmits images to a smartphone via Wi-Fi. In 2021, calling 720p “HD” doesn’t turn my tongue around, but technically everything is correct. The 380×380mm quadcopter also features a 6-axis stabilization system, “Headless” control mode, 360-degree flip support, a cell phone remote control, and a 2000mAh battery. There is no additional camera mount.
Appearance And Composition Of Elements
The quadcopter is tiny- approximately 380x380mm, plastic, very light (135g) and easy to set up. The propellers are bright orange, and the hull is black with small orange stripes. Well, a model for Shakhtar fans! In the kit, as appropriate, you can find additional propellers.
Design as design, nothing special to note. On the top of the case, there is a Shadow inscription and a power button. Below, on the “belly”, – is a compartment for the battery and memory card.
Software
Our drone is sophisticated, with its program for iOS and Android devices. The program can be installed on a smartphone, and the smartphone can be connected to the remote control. From there, you can control the flight (why?) and watch live camera videos.
Using
The use of any technique starts with charging. However, in the case of SHADOW FPV, everything is not so simple: it uses a classic, but still inconvenient system, where one side of the attached wire connects to the source via USB and the other – to the battery itself, which must be pushed out of the helicopter. The cable has a charge indicator, but it gets so hot it’s scary.
Well, well, loaded – and into battle. Control from the remote is quite simple and intuitive – even a beginner will get used to it quickly enough, and it won’t hurt anyone. I advise you to start with automatic mode when the quadcopter takes off in the air and hovers at a height of 1 meter.
Verdict
У HIPER SHADOW FPV, there are two sides to the coin. The first is the price. Objectively speaking, you get a drone capable of outperforming most of the more expensive competitors for little money. However, how many people still offer 28 minutes of flight? So, On the other hand, the feel of operation is also adequate: inconvenient loading, raw software and a weak camera make it clear that it’s more of a toy than anything more substantial; however, for novice pilots – just that.
